Final Exam Dates
About Online Studies Final Exam
Final Exam is approved for students who have completed all six required and two recommended courses. The format is combination of 100 plus multiple choice and short answers. It's open book. Length of exam is 3 hours (9:00a.m -1:00p.m. and 2:00p. m. - 5:00 p.m.).
The final exam is 30% of your online program. You are allowed re-take the final exam two times after the first try. After that, you have to enroll in the Fast-track retaking of the whole program.
Final Exams are held on the Second Tuesday in March, July and November
Location: approved facilities in various provices
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00p.m.
First try Final Exam Fee: Now $250.00 plus GST (All students taking final exam must pay this fee in advance to cover facility and Exam Supervisor's expense)
Second Try Final Exam Fee: $450.00 plus GST
Last Try Final Exam Fee: $450.00 plus GST
A score of 70% or higher is required to pass the final exam. You are allowed two re-takes. Fee for retaking the final exam is $450.00 plus GST
Provisional Exam
CFSI Provisional Exam are for those with minimum of five (5) years in management position in food facilities, food organizations or food regulations and approved for exemptions from the core program.
Provisional Exam Fee is $1,500.00 plus GST.
Second Try Fee: $750.00 plus GST
Last Try Fee: $750.00 plus GST

Exam Prep Classes
Students who need assistance in preparing for the Final Exam can register for the Instructor-led Exam Prep Classes. Exam Prep classes are held two (2) Saturdays before the final exam.
Request for registration must be in writing and registration must be in advance.
Exam Prep Fee is $450.00 plus GST for the two (2) Saturdays
Time: 10a.m. - 2:00p.m.
Tutorial and Exam Prep Classes
Tutorial
CFSI has developed a student-instructor tutorial service for students experiencing challenges with their assignments. Some of our students are making good use of this service to improve performance in their assignments.
The fee is $50.00 per hour or $25 per half hour at our site in Mississauga. Students must schedule an appointment so an instructor can be scheduled. We think this service might help since email response may not address your current challenges.
Time:
Weekdays: 5:30p.m. to 8:00p.m.
Saturdays: 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. (Time of morning session to be announced)
Condition: Request for tutorial session with an instructor must be made in writing.
Exam Prep Classes

Current process (and procedure) for completing your Food Safety Auditor and Specialist Certification Competency Program.
You need to complete the following to be certification-ready:
Standard Procedure
1. After completing the 8 online courses (excluding the Program Entry Food Safety, level 1), Complete the last Course "Implementing Food Safety Management Systems"
(With only 2 or 3 lessons). This course will allow you to prepare for your
Last Internal On-site Audit or Project during the 200 hours Job Placement.
2. Take and pass the final exam at or above 70%.
3. Complete On-site-competency Food Safety Management System Audit or Project at your Job Placement site or suitable site within your organization. If you are already working in a food facility, let us know if you need a letter of request for your company.
For this Internal Audit or Project, CFSI need a letter of commitment from your Supervisor allowing you to:
a) Select one or two employees for your Internal Audit/Project Team and b) support
Your team during the Internal Audit or project.
3. CFSI must receive the report of the result of this audit or project before we send your final certificate to you.
Making Appointment with the Executive Director & Certification Program Manager
You must call and schedule an appointment with your program coordinator before you show up at the office. If you show up at the office without an appointment, you will not be accommodated by staff or instructor.
International and Long-distance Students

NOTICE OF FINAL CERTIFICATION EXAM DATES & LOCATIONS
Final Exam Dates for International and Long-distance Students
Dates: Tuesday November. 10, 2009; Wednesday January 12, 2010
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00p.m. (International & Pacific Time)
Location: At employer location, at a church, school, college or university site.
TERMS & CONDITION:
1. All international students must officially nominate in writing and provide the name, title, organization, Phone number, email address, resume or letter from a reliable Exam Supervisor to be reviewed and approved by CFSI with a month or earlier before the date of the exam.
2. The nominate Exam Supervisor must submit a letter of agreement to CFSI with the month or earlier before the exam.
3. After the exam, and completion of all necessary forms, CFSI will pay $50.00 Canadian dollars to all International and long-distance Exam Supervisor and send them a Letter of Appreciation.
4. International & Long-distance students may forward this notice to the nominated Exam Supervisor.
